Who we are
This website, www.ston.ae, is run by Ston Agency, a web design studio based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We build websites and sell WordPress plugins (Ston Motion, Ston Handoff Pro and Ston Currency Switcher). This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Orders: your name, email address, billing country and the products you buy. We need these to deliver the plugin, send your license key and keep tax and accounting records.
- Payments: card payments are handled by our payment provider (WooPayments, powered by Stripe). Your card number goes straight to the provider; we never see or store it.
- Account: if you create an account we keep your username, email and order history so you can download files and manage your licenses.
- License checks: when a Ston plugin activates or checks its license it sends the license key, the website address it is installed on, the plugin version and the WordPress version. We use this only to confirm the license and to count sites.
- Free downloads: before you download a free plugin we ask for your email address. We keep it with the plugin name, its version and the download dates, plus whether you asked for news. We use it to know who uses our free plugins and, only if you ticked the box, to email you about updates and new plugins. Ask us and we remove it.
- Security logs: to stop abuse of the license service we keep a short-lived counter per IP address (deleted automatically within an hour).
- Messages: if you contact us we keep the conversation so we can help you.
Cookies
We use the cookies WordPress and WooCommerce need for your cart, checkout and login, and a small cookie (ston_currency) that remembers which currency you chose for prices, and a cookie (ston_free_ok) that remembers you already gave your email for free downloads, so we do not ask again (kept for 180 days). We do not use advertising cookies.
Who we share data with
- Our payment provider, to take payments.
- Our hosting provider (Hostinger), where the website and its database run.
- Email delivery for order and license emails.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as UAE accounting rules require. License records are kept while the license exists so your plugins keep working. Messages are kept for up to two years. Free-download emails are kept until you ask us to delete them. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; records the law requires us to keep are kept but not used for anything else.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Logged-in customers can also export or erase their data from the account page. Contact us on WhatsApp (+971 55 451 5569) and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
